Pootles Design Team October 2016 - Totally Trees Week 4

I am enjoying being part of the October 2016 Pootles Design Team. We have each been tasked with designing four projects using the Stampin' Up! stamp set called Totally Trees.

For Week 4 I made a pair of notebooks.

The first one was made using Pumpkin Pie card, Emerald envy stamped trees with an overlay of black and finished with flowers fussy cut from the Affectionally Yours DSP.

The second one was made using Sahara Sand card and this time as well as fussy cutting the flowers I also fussy cut out a set of trees that had been stamped with Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and my favorite Rich Razzleberry. They have been overstamped with Pacific Point.

I have so enjoyed being part of this challenge. I have learnt a lot, not least how far you can stretch a stamp set and a few ink pads. My four challenges have all used the same inks as well as the same stamp set but all four designs look very different.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and read my blog. I'm fairly new to stamping and am really enjoying sharing my little projects with you. I would be delighted if you would register to receive my blogs automatically by email and clicking on the images shown below will take you straight to that product in my online shop.

Finally, good luck to Team November!

Pootles Design Team October 2016 - Totally Trees Week 3

I am enjoying being part of the October 2016 Pootles Design Team. We have each been tasked with designing four projects using the Stampin' Up! stamp set called Totally Trees.

For Week 3 I made a stamped box that I made to hold a stubby candle - I think that it is very striking! I love the colours. I had to get creative with the way I made the box as a 12" square was needed to make it in the traditional manner, but actually, the way I did it has made a very sturdy box.

I used a piece of card that was 10 1/8 inches wide by 7 3/8 inches deep. Score at 2.5 inches along both of the longer edges and at 3 7/8 inches on the shorter edges. This will result in the base of your box being 2 3/8". Fold and burnish the scores and notch out the centre flaps. Fold so that the flaps are neatly hidden between the two side pieces.

This is the template I made for the box with marks to the box one showing where to stamp and the red lines show where to put your tape or glue.

I marked up the position for each stripe, then stamped. It was as easy as that! The lid has decorations made with thinlits and dies from the Thoughtful Range. I used scraps of Pumpkin Pie card to form the leaves then then stamped with Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie to try and achieve an Autumnal look. The cord was made from twisted top stitching thread.

Pootles Design Team October 2016 - Totally Trees, week two

I am enjoying being part of the October 2016 Pootles Design Team. We have each been tasked with designing four projects using the Stampin' Up! stamp set called Totally Trees.

This very simple little Thank You card I made for Week 2 is so pretty. I love the colours. In fact I like this little card so much I made a whole bunch of them earlier this week to send out to this month's customers.

I stamped the centre tree and the sentiment with Rich Razzleberry (my current favorite Stampin' Up! colour) onto Daffodil Delight card then quickly applied clear embossing powder and used my heat embosser to set it before stamping the two other trees with Old Olive. I also applied clear embossing powder the the inside sentiment too.

I made the envelope using envelope paper and the envelope punch board.

Pootles Design Team October 2016 - Totally Trees

I am enjoying being part of the October 2016 Pootles Design Team.  We have each been tasked with designing four projects using the Stampin' Up! stamp set called Totally Trees.

Here is my design for Week 1.

I used Whisper White and Emerald Envy cardstock.   I made a template from waste card which I attached to the card front with tape to use to mark up where I wanted the trees positioned, flipped up the template to stamp the four tree images and then flipped it back down to do the colour blocking.

I used sponge daubers to lightly apply the colour.  The winter tree is not coloured as such, I used Versamark to apply clear embossing powder which gives a lovely gleam to the card.

Next I used the leaves and little blossoms....

My finished card is a little dark but I wanted to show off the embossing....

I hope you like my design! Thank you for reading my blog and I hope to see you again soon. x
